Australian Cocktail Month May 2022
Celebrate your local cocktails and bars from 1 – 31 May with the launch of Australian Cocktail Month. This year the month will be bigger than ever, held across eight states and territories, and 12 cities including Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Darwin, Geelong, Gold Coast, Hobart, Melbourne, Newcastle, Perth, Sydney and Wollongong, all of which will join Australian Cocktail Month in partnering with some of the best local and international alcohol brands to champion the country’s bar industry. The $20 ticket, which is now available online HERE, allows guests access to a special menu of $14 cocktails created exclusively for the month where consumers can escape the day to day and enjoy delicious cocktails.
Founded by influential industry figure Penny Sippe, Australian Cocktail Month aims to provide assistance to the hospitality industry by driving people into bars as they rebuild following the pandemic. The Month will feature both local and international brands including Citadelle Gin, Brix White Rum, Archie Rose, Grey Goose Vodka, Four Pillars Gin, Sesion Tequila, Sheep Dog Peanut Butter Whisky, Plantation Pineapple Rum and Hennessy Cognac, to name just a few.
Recognising that the desire for low or no alcohol options is continuing to grow, Australian Cocktail Month has non-alcoholic options for $10. Fever-Tree; a premium mixer, and Lyres; a range of hand-crafted non-alcoholic spirits together with bartender creativity allow consumers avoiding alcohol to partake without compromising on what makes Australian bars great: the cocktail experience (and loads of flavour).
145 bars across the eight states (& territories) have been hand-picked to take part in year two. In Sydney, some of the bars participating include one of the World’s Top 50 Bar’s Maybe Sammy, Burrow Bar, Hickson House, Jolene’s and Jangling Jacks. Some of Melbourne’s team includes Black Pearl, Union Electric, Caretaker's Cottage, and Bouvardia. Brisbane bars offering the exclusive cocktails during Australian Cocktail Month include The Gresham, Savile Row, Alba Bar, Iris and the freshly opened Frog’s Hollow Saloon. Finally, Adelaide introduces Maybe Mae, Hains & Co, Alfred's Bar, Eleven and Extra Chicken Salt.
“I am so excited for another year of Australian Cocktail Month. Year two and we have more cities and double the bars involved. Encouraging consumers to head out and explore the bars that make our cities so vibrant whilst enjoying amazing cocktails created by some of the country’s best bartenders is our goal.” said Sippe.
A ticket to Australian Cocktail Month can be used at any participating venue throughout May, and is available for purchase now HERE.
